Cancer Research and Patient Support Grants Currently Available

1) The American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation
  • The mission of the American Society of Breast Surgeons Foundation is to improve the standard of care for breast disease patients.
  • Each year, the Foundation awards grants related to patient breast care and education, community outreach, research, and the Humanism in Medicine award. 
  • All interested applicants must submit a Word document grant proposal via email to [email protected]
  • All organization types are eligible to apply. However, if your organization is classified as a 501(c)(3), proof of nonprofit status must be provided.
  • No proposals submitted via mail or fax will be accepted. 
  • Please visit the Foundation's website for a detailed list of instructions and requirements for all grant proposals.
  • Monetary grants of up to $5,000 are awarded. 
  • Deadline: December 13th, 2019
2) Melanoma Research Foundation
  • The mission of the Melanoma Research Foundation is to support medical research for the effective treatment and eventual cure for melanoma, as well as to educate patients and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis, and care of this destructive disease. 
  • The Foundation considers basic, translational, and clinical research projects from both emerging and established applicants
  • Those interested in applying must complete and submit an online application. Eligible applicants will be individuals, not groups. Please visit the Foundation's website for further detailed instructions,
  • Awarded amounts range from $3,000 - $250,000. 
  • Deadline: March 1st (annually)
3) Elsa U. Pardee Foundation
  • The Elsa U. Pardee Foundation's mission is to fund research for the cure and treatment of cancer. 
  • The Foundation provides support in two key areas:
    • research programs directed toward discovering new approaches to cancer treatment 
    • financial support for cancer treatment
  • All eligible applicants are required to complete and submit an online application.
  • Eligible applicants will be investigators at United States nonprofit institutions and universities who are proposing research directed toward identifying new treatments or cures for cancer. 
  • The Foundation particularly encourages grant applications for a one-year period. 
  • Awarded amounts average $100,000 or more. 
  • Deadline: April 30th, August 31st, and December 31st (annually)
4) The Super Jake Foundation
  • The mission of The Super Jake Foundation is to fund research to find a cure for neuroblastoma (a rare and deadly form of pediatric cancer) and to provide assistance to families with children suffering from cancer.
  • The goal of the Super Jake Super Hero Grant Program is to recognize the courage and determination of children with neuroblastoma by offering financial support to them and their families. Currently, this program is limited to children diagnosed with neuroblastoma who reside in Illinois or Wisconsin, or who are being treated for the disease at a children's hospital in Illinois or Wisconsin. Emphasis is given to children in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas.
  • Medical research grants are also available. The Foundation provides grants for research that has the potential to lead to more effective and safer treatments for children suffering from neuroblastoma, as well as a cure for the disease. These grants are awarded nationally.
  • All eligible individuals must complete and submit an online application.
  • Grants for the Super Hero Grant Program range up to $2,500 and are based on patient need and available Foundation funding. Medical research grants generally range from $10,000 to $100,000.
